Should Every Business Be on Twitter? Nope, Twitter isn’t for everyone…

Published on November 14, 2010 By Bill Grunau

A frequent question I get is “do I need to be on Twitter for my business?” A few years ago many businesses either didn’t care about Twitter or figured it would never be relevant to business. Is Social Media a good Predictor of Elections, not necessarily

Published on November 3, 2010 By Bill Grunau

There was an interesting post today by US Politics on Facebook (see below) about how Facebook fan counts were good predictors of 4 out of 5 Senate races and 3 out of 4 House races.  Intuitively this makes sense, but I wondered how it held up in some of the really close and heated races. [...]

Published on October 31, 2010 By Bill Grunau

Web 2.0 has around for been for some time now & social media & networks, inbound marketing are replacing outbound marketing like email newsletters. Email marketing is old school interruption marketing no matter how you dress it up and this makes it Web 1.0 end of story. It is a dinosaur in Internet terms.

Social Media Jargon & Strategy Babble, a lot like Psycho Babble with a Geeky Twist

Published on October 24, 2010 By Bill Grunau

Social media babble has been bugging me for a while now.  Suddenly everyone is a expert in social media and what I find really amusing is that the same babble is being repeated over and over again like it is somehow a mind blowing revelation!  I feel like I am stuck in a Scott Adams Dilbert [...]

What the heck is Self SEO and SMO and Why Do I Care?

Published on September 16, 2010 By Bill Grunau

A common belief or line of thinking is that  SEO is only for big brands and corporate websites competing in the ranking arms race on the search engines, vying for who is listed on the first page and who gets top honors for being #1.  That may have been true a few years ago, but [...]

Regurgitation vs Original Content – Social Media Methods

Published on September 14, 2010 By geilt

Notice that some “SMO” or Social Media Guru’s seem to just regurgitate others content? Sometimes, especially when they spend too much time on the Road, it seems that they just post links or point out “How cool” the latest article/tweet/thingy is. Suprisingly, this is a perfectly valid method for Social Media development, in fact, its [...]
